Contribute NowHere's my opinion and an advice for when it's show in Japan. Don't expect a literal translation of the book. There are no Colbert nor Fouquet nor Louise here. No Belle-Isle nor Vannes, and no scene where Athos breaks his sword before the king. But you'll have, in exchange, wonderful performances by the four musketeers (Gabriel Byrne's D'Artagnan and Jeremy Iron's Aramis come immediately to mind), great music, the most beautiful musketeer uniforms you've ever seen in a movie, and a breathtaking final-charge scene, both amusing and touching (I felt shivers all through the last half hour of the movie). The characters have been transported from their original story to a different one, but remain the same, and that's what makes this movie a must-see. And of course, it's wonderful to see them aged.

Merci>I saw The Man In The Iron Mask yesterday. It was a movie without spirit I could say. The good things were the actor playing d'Artagnan (he was about correctly looking if you concider musketeers, though not looking like d'Artagnan, but anyway played the role very well), beautiful horses and dresses of women and the musketeers. I'd also add the musketeer liutenant, I think the actor who played him was the French actor who played a role of one soldier in "Cyrano De Bergerac".
